Welcome back!
Well, now that that is out of the way, we can move on. I have been continuing my running and bike training while I let my ribs heal. Swimming is still out of the question but hopefully not for much longer. The distances and lengths of my workouts have increased as I have decided to fore go competing in only sprint races. After my showing at Treasure Island I don’t see any reason why I cannot be extremely competitive in the Olympic distance races by the end of the off season. Back to work

Wow, sorry about that start time snafu. Seems like it should be easy for them to fix. Doesn’t the chip detect you entering the water? At most of my races, there is a mat you have to cross before getting in the water. Not all have that, tho…I guess it depends on how well they can control water entry location. Well, you rock anyway!

Dang, thats some tough luck. Look on the bright side, at least you know that you were by far the strongest tri athlete there. Now you will have plenty of confidence for the next event.

Next time no pre-race youtube videos and be early
This coming from a guy who is fashionably late to just about everything…St. Anthony’s this year comes to mind.

Carol: The way they had the chips setup was that your time automatically began at the start of your pre-determined wave. So when the race clock started so did my time. When I started the swim the clock was at 30:00.

That sucks man. At least besides that, your race went pretty well.
It sounds like that girl from the SF marathon that didn’t run with the pros, so she didn’t win, but had the fastest overall time.
